“Paddling Film Festival – World Tour – Medicine Hat 2018”

“Paddling Film Festival – World Tour – Medicine Hat 2018”,
on Tuesday the 20th of March, at the newly renovated Medicine Hat Public Library Theatre, in downtown Medicine Hat, Alberta.
The Paddling Film Festival – World Tour is an international adventure film contest awarding winning films in ten (10) categories, from amongst the best Kayaking, Sea Kayaking, Whitewater Kayaking, Kayak Fishing, Canoeing and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, action and lifestyle, films of the year, from all around the World.
The winners and other shortlisted films are then toured around the world, screening for an audience of more than 30,000 outdoor adventure enthusiasts and their friends and families, in more than 120 cities and towns all around the World.
Globally, 2018 marks the 13th Year of this prestigious Paddling Film Festival and the third (3rd) year in Medicine Hat.
With 20 inspiring paddling films shortlisted for this year’s World Tour, including the 10 festival category winners, audiences will see hairy whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring scenic, remote coastlines, northern river canoe expeditions, international river and waterways travel films, motivating environmental documentaries, gruelling kayak fishing battles and hilarious short films capturing the lighter side of paddling life.
The “Paddling Film Festival – World Tour – Medicine Hat 2018”, will inspire more people to get out and explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push physical and emotional extremes, embrace the lifestyle and appreciate the heritage of the wild places in which we live and paddle.
The inaugural Medicine Hat event, in 2016, sold out the Medicine Public Library Theatre. For 2017 the Film Festival had moved to the historic Monarch Theatre in Downtown Medicine Hat, Alberta. For our third annual Paddling Film Festival, we are proud to announce we will be back in the newly renovated Medicine Hat Public Library Theatre.
Posters are up throughout Medicine Hat, Southern Alberta and Southwestern Saskatchewan.

The Medicine Hat Paddling Club is a local club that has been around Southeastern Alberta for close to 32 years; since 2000 as the present name, preceded by the name Chinook Canoe & Kayak Club. The club’s mission is to promote and facilitate Safe paddling and paddling opportunities for Kayakers and Canoeists in the Southeastern Alberta area.
The Medicine Hat Paddling Club, which is a registered non-profit society, will be using funds raised from the “Paddling Film Festival – World Tour – Medicine Hat 2018”, to promote and develop Safe paddling opportunities, and to develop Safe access to the waterways in Southeastern Alberta.
Carefree Adventures is a family owned and operated Eco-Tourism business. Located in Medicine Hat and at Reid Lake in Southwest Saskatchewan; offering Kayak instruction, training, tours and rentals in Southeastern Alberta and Southwestern Saskatchewan.
