New electronic speed signs are popping up in the city. At yesterday’s Development and Infrastructure committee meeting, members all agreed the signs showing how fast a car is going is a great way to educate area motorists and remind them to slow it down. The 5 new signs have already been installed at various locations and the plan is to move them every 6 months so that drivers don’t become used to seeing them in one spot and start ignoring them. The vehicles speed is shown on all five of the signs and 4 of them also flash an additional slow down message. The sign locations were chosen in conjunction with the Medicine Hat Police Service.
