Staff at the CanAlta Centre were on hand to show off the new facility to the media yesterday morning. Peter Jelinski, manager of the CanAlta Center, says the new arena is for the people of Medicine Hat, and he is very excited about what the new facility will bring to the city. Jelinski added that the CanAlta Centre will be able to seat about 6,000 for hockey games and up to 7,100 for concerts. Mayor Ted Clugston was also on hand for the tour, and pointed out that the $74.9-million project was built on time and on budget. Media and VIP’s were taken on guided tours of the arena yesterday. Today will feature a sneak peek for CanAlta sponsors, and the facility will be open to the public on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm.
