5 charged in home invasion


Medicine Hat Police have now charged 5 males in connection with a home invasion that landed the victim in hospital. Police say this was a planned and targeted crime and are not looking for any other suspects. The truck stolen from the residence has been recovered. 19 year old Cameron Verpy, 20 year old, Derrick Risling, 18 year old Riley Belhumer, and a 16 year old male, all of Medicine Hat, have been charged with Break and Enter with intent to commit robbery, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery. They have all been released on bail with strict conditions and are due in court on Friday. The fourth adult male, 30 year old Tyler Wells of Medicine Hat, faces similar charges as well as theft of motor vehicle. Wells remains in custody and is due to appear in court on Friday.
