An intersection on the city’s west end will soon be safer. Traffic lights have recently been installed at Box Springs Road and Saamis Drive that are expected to ease the frustrations of drivers who use the area. The intersection has seen numerous accidents, many of them serious, over the years. With the expected increase in traffic thru the intersection due to the Canalta Center, The lights were put in to improve both flow and safety. City officials say the traffic signals became operational this morning and are reminding both drivers and pedestrians in the area to use extra caution.
