A recent conference board of Canada report shows a positive outlook for Medicine Hat. The Gas City ranked 4th among mid sized city’s in GDP growth in 2014, but that news is being tempered with a minimal growth this year. The report stated that Medicine HAt had a GDP of 2.9 percent in 2014, higher than the national average of 2.5 percent. That number for this year though is expected to be less than half a percentage point. The board says that Alberta is considered to be in a recession this year and that’s why there will be minimal growth
