The city’s plan to develop the old Glanville lot may be on hold once again. The empty lot on First Street SE across from Riverside Park was going to be developed with a residential and commercial building. However, Mayor Ted Clugston says the economics may just not make sense at this time. Architect Pat McNally, who has tried to develop the site in the past, says that keeping the lot as parking may be the best option for now, as the downtown gets further restored and hopefully busier. The lot has remained largely unused and unchanged since the lot was purchased by the city in 1979.
