The Saamis Tepee site has been temporarily closed. Randy Follett, the city’s Manager of Cultural Development, says the teepee was closed yesterday for maintenance after a regular inspection of the tepee identified some problems requiring immediate repair. The temporary closure includes the area directly under and around the tepee. However, the The parking lot at the tepee site and the trails will remain open. The Visitor Information Centre, including the picnic and playground area and the sanitary dumping station, are also open. Follett adds that city crews will work on the problems, and will re-open the site as soon as possible.
