A suspicious package prompted the evacuation of a downtown building. Medicine Hat Police say they responded yesterday to a report of a suspicious package at the law firm of Pritchard & Company on 6th Avenue SE. Due to the concerns of the recipient and the suspicious nature of the package the building was evacuated as a precaution. The Explosives Disposal Unit were called to the scene and determined the package was not a threat to the people in the building, and were allowed to return. In light of a recent bombing of a lawyer’s office in Winnipeg, police felt the caution was appropriate.
