The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of education has approved the 2015-16 budget. At this weeks board meeting trustees voted to approve the budget that is forecast to run a deficit of $596,000. Secretary-Treasurer Greg MacPherson says that’s good news compared to what they were looking at before the NDP government reversed the cuts to education. As part of the process, the board is expecting enrollment to grow next year by 22 full time students or about 1%. The division is also below the provincial threshold on administrative costs and that means just over $200,000 that could have been put towards administration costs is instead being allocated into student instruction.
