Two years ago Medicine Hat along with much of Southern Alberta were dealing with the floods. Last year there was some localized flooding. Barring any significant rainfall, officials say that this year everything looks good. Alberta Environment officials say that the South Saskatchewan River is actually below normal volumes for this time of year. Area creeks are also flowing at below normal volumes. While officials caution that a significant rainfall could change the situation, they are optimistic that Medicine hat will not see anything close to a flood situation this year.
