Rents in the gas city have risen but when compared to provincial averages, they are still below the norm. The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation released their report for April that showed an 11% increase in rents from last year at the same time. The report also showed a slight increase in vacancy rates in the city. The average rent for a 2 bedroom suite in the city is hovering around $825 per month as compared to the more than $1250 per month rents in Calgary and Edmonton. The report also shows only Brooks and Lacombe offer rents comparable to those here in Medicine Hat
