The Medicine Hat Event Center construction isn’t complete but already more parking is being looked at. At yesterday’s public services committee meeting, members were looking at adding more spaces. One option presented was to develop a city owned gas well site for about $650,000 that would provide an additional 200 parking spaces. The other option was to purchase land from Box Springs Business Park that would see 400 stalls developed at a cost of around 3 million. The current event center design had just over 1400 stalls allocated. Mayor Ted Clugston said this wasn’t a delay or over budget issue but an add-on to the project. The matter will now go before city council on May 5th
