Trial began today for 3 police constables

The court case against three members of the Medicine hat Police service begins today. Constables Robert Angstadt, David Hrycyk and Marc Seiller were first charged with aggravated assault in relation to the arrest of James Halcro on Aug. 25th, 2012 at the Cecil Hotel. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team was called in to investigate due to the nature of the injuries sustained by Halcro while being taken into custody. Halcro had to be hospitalized and needed surgery for his injuries. Constables Angstadt, Hrycyk and Sieller all pleaded not guilty to the charges, and have remained on active duty since the incident. The trial began today and is expected to last for 2 weeks,
