A Medicine Hat woman is facing multiple charges after an incident involving a knife. Medicine Hat Police were called to a residence on Simpson Crescent SE around midnight Friday. They found the female in the street wielding a large kitchen knife. Officers were able to convince her to release the knife, at which point she was taken into custody. She was then transported to Medicine Hat Regional hospital by EMS. Police believe the woman was in a state of excited delirium that was possibly brought on by consuming methamphetamine. The woman, whose name has not yet been released, faces charges which include drug possession, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and breach of previous conditions.
