Hatters will have to contend with another major downtown road construction project this summer. Construction begins Wednesday, May 20, 2015 on the next phase of the Downtown Redevelopment Plan as the Second Street S.E. Revitalization Project sees the 500 block begin its transformation. The project involves the replacement of water mains, replacement or lining of sanitary mains, and enhancement of surface features including sidewalks and mid-block crossings. During construction the 500 block of Second Street S.E. will be closed to vehicular traffic, however, customer parking will be available in the Cottonwood parking lot near First Street S.E. or the Transit Terminal Parkade. Officials ask residents to continue to watch for updates to signage and detours as work progresses
