The official sod turning at Medicine Hat High School took place on Friday.  Education Minister David Eggen took part in the official ground breaking ceremony, along with MLAs Bob Wanner and Drew Barnes, and two students from Hat High. Terry Reilly, board chair School District 76, said renovations for the  60 year old school have been discussed for the last 25 years. Over the net 3 years, the modernization will see students move into the north wing next fall while the south wing is renovated.  The north will eventually be demolished, and a new gymnasium will be built while the current gym will be redeveloped into a library and space for group learning and study. The cost of the renovations at Hat High will be around $42 million dollars.
