A man shot by police in an incident more than 2 years ago, will have his trail start next week in Medicine Hat court. Michael Carolan was shot by officers in September of 2013 when he exited a home on Rideau Close SE carrying more than one gun and refused to drop them. He was critically injured in the incident and police were cleared of any wrong doing in an ASIRT investigation. Carolan is facing a dozen charges that include weapons offences and assaulting a police officer. The shooting marked the first officer involved shooting in Medicine Hat in more than 30 years. Carolan’s trail is expected to begin on Monday in Medicine Hat Court of Queens Bench.
