The economy is taking it’s toll on donations heading into the holiday season.  The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign has been running for nearly 2 weeks and officials say that donations so far are down about 13% over last year.  Coordinator Michelle Schuett says donations so far sit just over $36,000 and she knows it’s tough out there with a lot of people out of work due to the economy and job losses.  Schuett says though she is still happy with the donations so far and that it’s great to see Hatters stepping up to the plate and doing what they can.  The Christmas Kettle Campaign runs through Christmas Eve.
