Pipeline leak north of city being investigated

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada confirmed that one of their investigators is looking into a sweet natural gas leak north of Medicine Hat. The agency says the investigator will be assessing a reported leak from the TransCanada pipeline on the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River that occurred about 17 kilometers north of the city in a remote area. officials add that the nearest residence was more then 4 kilometers away. A statement from TransCanada Pipelines says monitoring equipment immediately shut down the affected section when it detected the leak. The statement goes on to say they are continuing to look into what caused the leak and that there is no danger to the public.
