Hatters are once again able to enjoy full access to the Lions Park area as 2015 construction work to provide flood protection has wrapped up. All trails in the area are now open to the public as well as the 2nd Street SE and Minto Avenue access roads into Lions Park. motorists are reminded to drive with care as the road alignment for these two locations has changed. Councillor Robert Dumanowski said this is a milestone for the neighbourhood and for our community. Crews will be back on site in Lions Park in the spring to complete some final touch ups. The Storm Outfall Backflow Prevention Project is expected to be completed in early 2016. Construction on the Industrial Avenue and Riverside Phase 1 projects are expected to begin in 2016.
