Syrian refugees are expected to begin arriving before the Christmas deadline set up by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.  Antonio Samayoa, executive director Saamis Immigration, says that refugees will be brought to Canada starting December 1st. Samayoa says that Medicine Hat will receive between 100 to 165 refugees and they will be made up of families.  For the first year the refugees will receive federal government funding to take care of all their basic needs. A leaked document to the media suggests The federal government’s budget to resettle Syrian refugees will cost $876.7-million in 2016, and $1.2-billion over the next six years. Samayoa added that there will also be funding for Saamis Immigration to help teach the refugees to speak English.
