Nursing students at Medicine Hat College are getting some new-life-like patients.  Students now will be able to practice on mannequins designed for scenario-based training in the medical field with lifelike arms and multiple veins for IV therapy; and an intuitive patient monitor to help students familiarize themselves with reading pulses and treating clients.  The equipment was purchased from interest earned on a 2.2 million endowment fund set up by Ron Rodgers in memory of his wife Willma.  Trish O’Grady, development officer with the foundation explains that the terms were that the interest go towards assisting students with bursaries and offsetting program costs for the division.
