Merchants to meet to talk about CCDA fate

A meeting is in the works to gather petition signatures to dissolve the City Center Development Association.  The CCDA is at the center of a controversy over harassment allegations at the Monarch Theatre.  Critics say the Association didn’t take seriously enough reports of verbal abuse towards several Theatre employees.  If the petition garners 25% support, or about 50 signatures, that would force city council to put it on an agenda.  From there, 99 signatures would be a majority vote to dissolve the CCDA.  That meeting of downtown business owners will most likely happen on Monday.
