Allegations surround Monarch Theatre, CCDA

The City Centre Development Agency held an emergency meeting to address serious allegations of verbal and sexual harassment made against the management of the Monarch Theatre. According to the CBC, women ranging in age from 15 to 26 years old allege they were verbally abused. Medicine Hat Police confirm they’re aware of the allegations and looked into them this summer. The report states that the concerns raised but were not taken seriously by the CCDA board until the latest allegation from a 17-year-old girl claiming management made sexual innuendos and told her she should wear more revealing clothes to work. After last nights meeting, the CCDA released a statement saying any allegations brought to the board will be investigated by an independent third party.
