A historic sex assault trial is almost in the hands of the jury. The trial of a 62 year old man accused of sexually assaulting his daughter and sister in law during the 1970’s and 80’s wrapped up yesterday in Medicine Hat Court of Queens Bench with closing arguments from the crown and defense. The two women involved were both minors at the time the offences were said to have occurred. Neither the accused or the complainants can be identified because of a publication ban on their names. Justice Rod Jerke is expected to give final instructions to the 6 men and 6 women on the jury before they begin deliberations on the six charges the accused is facing.
