Police issue warning about intimate images

Medicine Hat Police are reminding people that sending intimate images over the internet is not only risky but possibly illegal.  In March of this year, a new law came into effect that prohibits sharing such an image without the consent of the person in the picture.  This new law has no age limit so police say it applies as equally to youth as well as adults.  The Maximum penalty is 5 years in prison.  Police say that young girls are especially vulnerable to such pressure and advise parents to talk to their children about the dangers of sharing intimate images over the internet.
