Voter turnout in the Federal election was markedly up over past years.   In the Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner riding, 65.89% of registered voters cast ballots this year.  Nationally that number was just below the turnout across the country of 68.49%.  The national figure was an increase over the 61.1% in 2011 and 58.8% back in 2008.  This years numbers don’t yet include electors who registered at the polls on election day.  The last time that voter turn out across the country was this high was back in 1993 when 69.6% percent of voters cast their ballots.
