Utility rates set for October

Natural gas prices have fallen while electricity rates in Medicine hat will rise, but only slightly.  The City released the October utility rates which see natural gas pricing set at $274 per gigajoule  which is down from Septembers $3.10.  Electricity rates meanwhile are ticking up slightly.  This month it will cost you 5.39 cents per kilowatt hour over Septembers 5.36 cents.  City officials have long said that they look at what other providers in the province are charging their customers and then set prices based on an average of that for here.
