Progress on two downtown construction projects is giving business owners some optimism. The Projects seemed stalled and last month former contractor, Innovative Civil Contractors were terminated by the city. At the time it was said progress seemed too slow. MJB Contractors was given the nod and since that time the moods of business owners affected has lightened. King of Trade co-owner Dave Brown said that crews are putting in some long hours and the work is noticieable. City officials say the 6th Avenue and 2nd Street intersection should be fully open this weekend and work will then focus on the remaining project.
