Minimum wage earners across the province are getting a raise today. As part of the NDP governments agenda, those employees earning minimum wage will see their hourly rate go from $10.20 per hour to $11.20. Liquor servers are also seeing their wage go from $9.20 to $10.70 per hour. Many small business owners have said the plan to eventually raise the Alberta minimum wage to $15.00 per hour will hurt them in a lot of different ways. The Medicine Hat and District Chamber of Commerce has said they have concerns about the wage increase. They raised some of those when Finance Minister Joe Ceci visited Medicine Hat last week.
