A new senior centre in Medicine Hat may have another scenario. On Friday, Medicine Hat College announced a concept for a facility for both students and seniors. Darren Hirsch, chair of the college’s board of governors, revealed some details of a proposed building. Hirsch says the project would provide space for seniors to work out of, as well as access to areas of the college, including the gym, the library, food services and more. The budget for the concept is between $40-$57 million and the College will look at partners in the project, including the city. Councillor Bill Cocks says the college pitched the concept to city council a few weeks ago, and the city has enough information where they could actually make a decision on the concept at tonight’s city council meeting.
