A Medicine Hat Police Constable convicted of common assault will remain on duty for the time being. Constable Robert Angstadt was found guilty following a recent trial. The charges stemmed from an August 2012 incident at the Cecil hotel. Chief Andy McGrogan said in a press release that Angstadt will remain assigned until the Court has made a final disposition on the case. McGrogan said his decision was based on reviewing the case and applicable legislation. McGrogan added that once the court completes it’s work, he will again review the case and make a final determination on Angstadt’s future.
