Recent precipitation and cooler temperatures have been welcomed by fire officials as the risk has been decreased.  Cypress County officials have lifted the fire ban but an advisory remains in place for the time being.  County of 40 Mile officials have also removed the ban and are keeping a warning in place for now.  Fire bans were issued several weeks ago as hot and dry conditions meant a tinder dry prairie.  Fire permits in both county’s are being issued once again but people are being warned that extreme caution still needs to be used if you are planning a fire.  Both county’s say they will continue to monitor moisture levels.
