Local police cadets hit the books

The Medicine Hat Police Service’s first cadet training program in more than 35 years is officially underway. The service announced last year that they would team with Lethbridge College and the course would be eligible for College accreditation which can be used towards future studies. The Cadets began classes yesterday and will complete the course in August. Chief Andy McGrogan says that 8 of the cadets in the pass will be offered employment once the actually complete the course. Ten cadets from the C.P. Rail Police are also enrolled along side the Medicine Hat cadets. The last locally trained police cadets graduated in 1980.
