The man who ran over a city police officer and crashed into an RCMP cruiser will spend 4.5 years in jail.  45 year old Kevin Labelle was sentenced this week for the May 7th incident.  Labelle was accused of running over a Medicine Hat Police constable after he was stopped at the bottom of Dunmore Hill.  Labelle then drove west on Highway 3 at high rates of speed and crashed into a RCMP cruiser near Bow Island.  Police finally arrested him near the community after the stolen truck got stuck in a ditch.  Labelle told the court he had taken LSD in Winnipeg and had no idea where he was.  Labelle, through his attorney, apologized to the injured officer who has since returned to duty.
