As the new school year begins, district administrators are relieved their funding was restored.  It was announced by the PC government in the spring that education would take a massive cut in funding.  The NDP government however reversed those cuts following the election.  For Medicine Hat School District 76 that meant nearly $2.4 million was restored to their operational budget for this school year.  Medicine Hat Catholic was facing just over $800,000 in cuts but saw that returned while the Prairie Rose School Division breathed a sigh of relief when nearly $1.5 million was returned to their budget.  Officials with each district all said that they were pleased the funding was restored to the education system.
