Three Medicine Hat Police officers have been found not guilty of aggravated assault.  In Medicine Hat Court of Queens Bench Justice M. David Gates acquitted Constables Marc Seiller, David Hyrcyk and Robert Angstadt for the charge that stemmed from an August 2012 incident at the Cecil Hotel.  Justice Gates also found Constables Seiller and Hyrcyk not guilty of the lesser charge of assault.  Gates stated the Constable Angstadt’s initial contact with Robert Halcro that night excessive and found him guilty of assault.  Chief Andy McGrogan said as the matter is still before the courts he won’t comment further other than to say that each officers actions will be reviewed under the Police Act’s Police Service Regulations.  McGrogan added that Seiller and Hrycyk will return to full operational duty while Angstadt’s status will be reviewed in depth.
