Flood mitigation efforts for Riverside residents will be a focus next week. The City of Medicine Hat is holding a drop in Open House for Riverside area residents on Wednesday, May 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Cutbanks Room of the Esplanade. The intent of the Open House is to update residents on the progress made on the Overland Flow Protection project in the Riverside area. Residents will have the opportunity to view the protection options being considered and provide their feedback. Meanwhile city residents can view a new dedicated Flood Mitigation Strategy page that has been set up on the City’s website. The page provides details on the various flood mitigation projects and officials say it will be updated as more information becomes available.
