Voting in the provincial election is now underway. Advance polls opened up yesterday and are open until Saturday night from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m each day. In Medicine Hat, there are several advance polling stations and officials say the best way to determine where you should vote is by going to the Elections Alberta website. Voters will need government issued identification showing their name, picture, and current address in order to cast a ballot. In the 2012 general election, 179,820 valid ballots were cast across the province at 222 advance polls, a significant increase from 2008’s advance polls, which saw 64,332 ballots cast at 162 advance polling stations.
