A 21 year old Medicine Hat man is in a Calgary Hospital today after an accident near Tilley. Brooks RCMP say that the accident occurred shortly after 11 Saturday morning when a Chev pickup was heading eastbound and entered the median where the driver then lost control and the truck came back across the highway and rolled several times int he south ditch. Witnesses helped the 21 year old Medicine Hat driver from the truck while the fire department extracted the 18 year old Brooks passenger. The 21 year old was taken to brooks Hospital and then Calgary by ambulance. The passenger was flown to Brooks by HALO and then on to Calgary by STARS. Both men were reported to have serious injuries. Investigators say both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and alcohol is not thought to be a factor. Police are not releasing the names and say the accident is still under investigation.
