The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education is now reviewing the conditions of employment agreement that all employees sign. That form states the employee can be terminated if they are in a same sex relationship or even a common-law relationship. Superintendent Garry Andrews said that they will be seeking legal advice as well as guidance from the Bishop on the matter. The issue has raised concerns in the Alberta Legislature when it was discovered that some publicly funded schools in the province had similar policies. Officials with the Education Ministry said they are now reviewing all master contracts with school districts and that will include all employment agreements between boards and their employees.
