The dollar may be dropping, but its helping bring tourism up. Destination Marketing Organization executive director Jace Anderson says The poor Canadian dollar makes Medicine Hat a far more popular destination for Americans looking for a cheaper vacation. Anderson adds that tourists are coming from all over the states as well. At one point this year there was an equal number of people from the state of Virginia as Montana stopping by the information centre. Anderson says that although the dollar helps bring people from the States, increased marketing and Medicine Hat being on the route to Alaska also contributes to the higher numbers this year.
