The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team continues to investigate an officer involved shooting in Redcliff. ASIRT and the RCMP confirm that early yesterday morning, a man went to the Redcliff detachment and when approached by officers he appeared to point a gun at which time he was shot and wounded. Both ASIRT and RCMP are remaining tight lipped about any other details at this time and won’t say whether the suspect was known to police or even if he is a local resident. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit from Calgary is said to be assisting ASIRT with the investigation and communications staff from both agencies have declined further comment at this time.
