If you were looking up you may have seen a larger unfamiliar plane in the sky. Hatters yesterday spotted a CC-130 Hercules aircraft over the Gas City. Captain Bettina McCulloch-Drake of the 17 Wing Winnipeg said the Hercules is participating in military search and rescue training in the area and is being operated by 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron. McCulloch-Drake said that squadron along with 424 Squadron from Trenton are honing their search and rescue skills. The aircraft are practicing flying search patterns and crews practice other things they need to use in a live search and rescue effort
