Historic sex assault trial nears conclusion

The trial of a man accused of sexually assaulting his daughter and sister in law is wrapping up in Medicine Hat Court of Queen’s bench. The 62 year old man took the witness stand in his own defense yesterday and categorically denied the allegations against him. Neither he, nor the complainants can be identified by court order. The incidents began in the 1970’s when the family was living in Brooks. The original indictment had 13 counts leveled against the accused but that was amended yesterday to 6 counts. The trial continues today as both the crown and defense present their closing arguments
