Money is being raised to help the family of a young girl hit by a truck last week in Medicine Hat. 6 year old Abby Gilmore was hit by the pickup last Wednesday morning and taken to Medicine Hat Hospital and later that day rushed to Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary where doctors repaired a broken leg and put her into a medically induced coma for head injuries. Father Dana works at the Box Springs Kal-Tire and co-workers there began collecting donations to help the family out in their time of need. Officials say the public can make a donation this week up to and including this Friday. Medicine Hat Police meanwhile are continuing to investigate the accident, but so far have not said if any charges will be laid against the 89 year old driver of the pickup truck.
