Non-union staff and managers in the city are getting a pay raise. AT last nights city council meeting, councillors voted unanimously for the motion that will see those staff receive a 2.5 percent increase for this year. As the city heads to bargaining talks with many other departments and divisions i the coming months, the move could be seen as a signal to other bargaining units. Firefighters and Police are set to come to the bargaining table later this year as are power line workers, inside and outside workers and transit workers. Councillor Robert Dumanowski who represents the city in bargaining talks says the increase approved last night is similar to other settlements around the province.
