A Medicine Hat man received a fine after police were called out for reports of gunshots. Police say that just before 1:30 yesterday afternoon they received a complaint of shots being fired in the 200 block area of Sierra Drive SW. Several officers wearing protective gear quickly arrived in the area, including a K9 unit to begin their search and investigation. Police say that it turns out a 49 year old man was shooting a pellet gun from his home that backs onto a walking trail. The man was charged under Medicine Hat bylaws for discharging an air rifle within city limits. A police spokesman said that fine carries a penalty of $100
