Medicine Hat’s 5 year plan to end homelessness in the city took another major leap forward. Mayor Ted Clugston and officials with the Community Housing Society last night announced an ambitious new project. That will see 50 more housing units built at a cost of $10 million. The city will bay 30 percent of that with the province kicking in the rest. Jamie Rogers with MHCHS said the units are the plan is to include necessary supports through on-site staff that will better help meet the clients needs. The hope is to have the units ready by the end of next year. Clugston says it’s an aggressive and ambitious plan, and getting it started is the first step.
